For 126 years, the Balfour Dock Building has stood at the heart of Tacoma’s working waterfront. From the legacy of Thea Foss and Harry Bridges to the tall ships and the Mosquito Fleet, Foss Waterway Seaport preserves the stories of the people and vessels that shaped our maritime community.

The Chowder Social fundraising event is our annual celebration of this history and the future of the Seaport.

Join us on April 26, 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tacoma's waterfront at the Foss Waterway Seaport for an unforgettable evening, featuring a hosted social hour, dinner with a variety of incredible chowders and salads, a silent auction, live auction, dessert dash, raise the paddle, and more.
